The Company is pleased to announce the appointment of a new non-executive chairman and two non-executive directors to the Wellington Board on the 31st May 2006. Their considerable experience in business and commerce will strengthen the board as the Company pursues its strategy of continued planned growth and to further consolidate its position as the UK's leading market operator. Non-Executive Chairman LORD LEE OF TRAFFORD D.L., F.C.A Lord Lee was a Member of Parliament from 1979-1992 and a minister of Defence and Employment. He has been on the boards of a number of public companies including Chancery Consolidated, James Halstead and PZ Cussons. Currently he is the Chairman of the Association of Leading Visitor Attractions and a Non- Executive Director of Emerson Developments (Holdings) Ltd and James R Knowles (Holdings) Plc. He writes a monthly "My Portfolio" column for the Financial Times and has been a shareholder for a number of years. Currently he has a beneficial holding of 139,000 shares and a non-beneficial holding of 18,000 shares.
Non-Executive director MICHAEL CHADWICK Michael Chadwick is the Executive Chairman of Grafton Group plc, a company listed on the London and Irish stock exchanges. In the 20 years he has held this position, Grafton has grown substantially in Ireland and has built up UK businesses with annual sales in excess of *1 billion. He is also a director of other companies in which he has invested including Pochin's Plc. He currently holds a non-beneficial interest in 1,031,270 Wellington Market Company Plc shares.
Non-Executive director SARAH HEWETT Sarah Hewett is the daughter of our late Chairman Geoffrey Simon. She is a Managing Director of Morgan Stanley, the US investment bank, and has worked in its equity research department since 1996.
