Wellington Market Company plc announces that on 2 April 2009, Quiros Limited
which is owned by a Trust of which Mr Michael Chadwick (who is a non-executive
director of the Company) is the Settlor, purchased 43,000 ordinary shares of £
0.50 each ("Ordinary Shares") at £ 0.625 per share.

As a result of this transaction, Mr Chadwick is interested in 1,084,270
Ordinary Shares in the Company representing 18.07% of total voting rights of
which 10,000 is beneficial and 1,074,270 is non-beneficial.
