                               Grant of Options

Wellington Market Company plc announces that on 1 June 2009, the Company
granted Mr Malcolm Ball, the Chief Executive Officer of the Company, 50,000
share options ("Options") over ordinary shares of £0.50 each. The Options have
an exercise price of £0.66 and are exerciseable from 1 June 2012. The Options
were granted under the Wellington Market Company plc 2006 Enterprise Incentive
Scheme.

As a result of this transaction, Malcolm Ball is interested in 50,000 Options
in the Company and has no other interest in the Company.
